Quality | 17NiCrMo6-4 |
Category | Special steel |
Standard ref. | UNI EN 10084 |
Werkstoff nr. | 1.6566 |
It is a non-alloyed steel which can be quenched in oil and in water. It is possible to produce large-scale pieces with adequately transformed structures. It is one of the most used carbon steel in Europe. It is the most well-known case-hardening steel in Italy due to the excellent properties which make 17NiCrMo6-4 suitable for several application. It has got a medium-high hardenability and a good workability. After casehardening and quenching treatment the surface reaches a considerable hardness. It is employed to produce mechanical parts subject to wear (gears, camshafts, bushings, pinions and pins).
